Brrrrr, it's cold this year...and rainy! Actually, it was cold last year, too! Maybe this isn't the best time for a road race, Little Rock!
Since it was pirate themed we had to dress up! Obviously, we aren't serious runners (LOL). Jessica was dying to be a parrot. She bought a full body parrot costume! And yes, you can get a poncho on over a parrot costume.
I WAS going to be a mermaid. I ordered fish scale leggings and a green wig. The wig came, but the tights got stuck at the Port of Long Beach due to the strike. I kept hoping they would arrive. I even made a pink glitter shell bra t-shirt.
It took lots more glitter than this!
The day before the race, I decided to be a pirate! I actually had two unworn pirate costumes to work from. I used part of each and did surgery on one of them to make a skirt. One of the costumes came with a foamy pirate hat. I think it turned out well.
(I have no idea who that guy in the khaki pants is!)
We had fun, but boy do we have some training to do before the Tinkerbell Half in May!
